Edelweiss is a white seeded table, wine, and juice grape. Hardy to -30 F. It exhibits excellent disease resistance and adaptability. Edelweiss has a pleasing for some, obnoxious for others- foxy (labrusca) flavor, which becomes more pronounced the longer it hangs on the vine. While mostly a table and juice grape, some very popular sweet wines have also been made. Ripens early in the season, late August to early September. Named by Elmer Swenson.

| Rory's Recommendation - Edelweiss is a very versatile and prolific grape. It's disease resistant, requiring little to no spray program. The vine is hardy and reliably sets a good crop each year. In addition to all of these great characteristics it was bred to be a table grape, so it has large berries on large clusters with low sugar and acid levels. The downside of Edelweiss is- the window of palatability from the time it is sweet to the time the foxy character becomes obnoxious is only a few days attaining about 15-18 brix. This makes Edelweiss good for table eating and juice, but poor for wine making except as a blender.
