| Sabrevois was named after the village near the Richeliu River in southern Quebec where Gilles Benoit of Vignoble des Pins, first made decent wine from the variety. Sabrevois is very winter hardy with good disease resistance, and is quite vigorous. It produces clusters of small to medium size, with moderate sugars and slightly high acids. Sabrevois is hardy to -31° F or better. Selected by Elmer Swenson. |

| Rory's Recommendation - Sabrevois is a sister seedling to St. Croix, both vines have plenty of vigor on a normal site, and too much on a fertile site. I've been quite unimpressed with the wines made from these varieties, fruity without body or complexity. At most, I could only recommend these two grapes for blending with other wine grapes, or to someone who wants to grow grapes on a very difficult site where other varieties fail to grow. | ||||
